Professional Information

My qualifications include an MA (2013) in Counselling (with distinction) and first class BA (Honours) in Humanistic Counselling Practice (2010), from the University of Nottingham. I hold a Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate (December 2008) accredited by the National Open College Network. I’m a registered member of the BACP – see https://www.bacp.co.uk/search/Register.

The core of my therapeutic approach is person-centred, creating an empathic, non-judgmental and genuine therapeutic relationship, where you will feel enabled to find new insights and creative options for change. Other approaches I draw on include existential therapies, solution focussed, interpersonal therapy and grief therapy. Also, I’m interested in how nature, the arts and exercise may be therapeutic. I’m involved with Lapidus, which promotes creative writing and reading for health and wellbeing.
