Year out: August 2018 to 2019

I will be away from my base in West Bridgford, Nottingham and unable to take new clients until September 2019 - please see “counselling service” section for further details.

I am a qualified counsellor experienced in working with people aged 18 to 80+. If you’re feeling distressed, or are struggling to cope, counselling can help you to build on your personal strengths and find new understanding and ways forward. There is a good chance of success – studies show that 8/10 people seeing their GP for depression/anxiety are better off after therapy than those who don’t have therapy1. For general information about counselling and psychotherapy, see https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/we-can-help/.

About me

I trained as a counsellor after many years experience working in planning and service development with a variety of public sector organisations. I have experience with the Age UK (Nottingham and Nottinghamshire) Counselling Service and with the YMCA, where I worked with their Nottingham hostel residents. I work voluntarily with Cruse Bereavement Care, doing assessment, one-to-one bereavement support and supervision. As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within its ethical framework for good practice and have full Professional Liability Insurance.
